At 48, I know more about work, money, fatherhood, health and myself than I did twenty years ago. Somehow, I am also less certain about almost everything. Maybe adulthood is not about finally having the answers, but learning what to do without them.

Six stairs left me winded, my new cane is still sitting unused, and a PET scan is coming Monday. With my first mogamulizumab infusion 12 days away, I am learning how quickly cancer can turn ordinary tasks into calculations of energy, distance, and what my body can still manage.
